Instructors at Indian River State College have the opportunity for additional  professional development delivered through courses offered by the Association of Colleges and University Educators (ACUE).
Every faculty member credentialed by ACUE has learned about and implemented practices across all of the framework’s core competencies, including "Promoting Active Learning", Designing "Student Centered Courses", Inclusive Teaching for Equitable Learning", "Creating Inclusive and Supportive Learning Environments", and Inspiring Inquiry and Preparing Lifelong Learners".
Courses are offered continuously throughout the year.
For more information about enrollment into courses, contact Dr. Bruce Fraser bfraser@irsc.edu or Michael Pelitera mpeliter@irsc.edu

"As a fairly new teacher, they have been empowering and have truly helped me become more confident and a better teacher.  I love the interaction with other teachers and learning from them, both here in the reflection posts as well as from the educators in the videos.  I wish I had more creative freedom to be able to put some of the practices into action, but as an adjunct, it is often hard.  Nevertheless, I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow as a teacher."
"This is my 3rd ACUE and the best one yet. All of the modules were timely and contained great ideas and suggestions. I'm certain that my teaching has and will continue to improve as a result of what I've learned. This was a great course!"
